Data licences & attribution

Licence links reviewed: 20 October 2026. Dataset reference years and retrieval dates are retained separately. Original site design and code are reserved to World in Facts. That notice does not override source data licences. World in Facts is independent and is not endorsed by the institutions named below.

AI readiness and recorded category links

Oxford Insights Government AI Readiness Index 2024: © 2024 Oxford Insights, published 20 December 2024. Scores extracted and country labels normalized. Adapted score table retains CC BY-SA 4.0. Original report. This licence applies to the adapted table, not unrelated site code. Data-center items and UNESCO intangible-heritage identifier links are incomplete Wikidata structured-data snapshots, retrieved 7 October 2026, CC0; they do not establish operational facility totals or a complete current UNESCO roster.

Excluded measures

5G readiness: 5G readiness requires a defined index. ITU population coverage is a different measure, and commercial redistribution permission for the direct dataset is not verified. Source and terms

Robot density: A reusable country-level robot-density table is not included. IFR database redistribution requires licence review. Source and terms

Multilateral reach: Multilateral reach has no defined scoring method here. Use recorded organization links; they are not a reach score. Source and terms

UN peacekeeping: The UN portal restricts reuse to non-commercial purposes. No country contribution table is redistributed in this commercial collection. Source and terms

Core treaty participation: Core treaty participation needs verified ratification records and reuse permission. Signatures and organization memberships cannot establish ratification. Source and terms

Reuse terms and limitations

World Bank datasets are reusable under their stated licences and additional terms; third-party indicator exceptions must be respected. Direct FAO agricultural production datasets are excluded from this edition because their additional terms require review for the intended commercial use. Oxford Insights adapted scores remain under CC BY-SA 4.0. These permissions apply to the identified data, not all material on linked websites.

Source terms can change. The cited licence pages and individual metadata govern reuse; this site does not certify blanket legal clearance for every commercial purpose.

Publication source policy

Only the approved source collection is served. Older research records, the conflicting UNESCO feed, sample statistics, article bodies, photographs and institutional logos are excluded. Reuse permissions do not verify factual accuracy or certify every legal obligation of a commercial website.

Country category coverage

Coverage counts show stored source observations, not proof that a category is complete. A missing record does not mean zero. Reference years vary; some latest observations are old.

Wikidata structured metadata · CC0

Source: Wikidata contributors. Structured labels, dates, qualifiers and relationships retrieved 5 October 2026. Adaptation: selected metadata; normalized country labels; original brief summaries and editorial navigation links. Source precision and calendars retained without calendar conversion. Linked reference pages, encyclopedia articles and media are outside this permission.

Wikidata licensing · CC0 · Independent heritage metadata

Heritage dates describe source designation relationships, not the complete current official UNESCO list. The direct UNESCO DataHub feed is excluded because its displayed Creative Commons licence conflicts with linked syndication restrictions. Country heritage counts use independently retrieved Wikidata statements.

Oil reserve estimates and solar PV potential

Oil: CIA World Factbook via the pinned factbook.json CC0 archive. Source crude-oil estimated reserves converted to billions of barrels; source estimate years retained. The source field does not certify independently audited proved reserves.

Solar: The World Bank: Global Photovoltaic Power Potential by Country (2020): Solargis, with funding from the Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP). Data obtained from Global Solar Atlas 2.0, developed and operated by Solargis s.r.o. on behalf of the World Bank Group, utilizing Solargis data. Licence: CC BY 4.0, with applicable World Bank and Global Solar Atlas additional terms. Only the long-term average practical PVOUT Level 1 column and country coverage notes are selected; values are unchanged, ISO3 labels normalized, missing observations excluded. 2020 is the study edition, not an annual generation observation. Values describe fixed, optimally tilted monofacial utility-scale PV, excluding land with identifiable physical obstacles. They do not measure total clean-energy potential, wind, hydro, installable capacity or investment returns. Use to inform policy discussions, not financial commitments. Neither Solargis nor the World Bank Group guarantees accuracy or completeness; the site is independent and not endorsed by them.

World Bank observations · CC BY 4.0 with additional terms

Attribution: The World Bank: World Development Indicators: the underlying data providers listed below. Each used indicator’s metadata explicitly identifies CC BY-4.0. Saved observations retrieved 5–6 October 2026; trade additionally displays retrieval and source update dates.

Changes: country labels normalized, aggregates and null observations excluded, latest non-null country observations selected, tourism arrivals converted to millions. Annual values are retained, with missing years left as gaps. Trade balance is exports minus imports in the same year. GDP uses current dollars without inflation adjustment. Values may include estimates or revisions; supplied source flags are retained.

Religious timelines · selected structured dates

Religious building and religious organization inception statements are selected from Wikidata using explicit country and religious affiliation relationships. Denominations are grouped through source subclass relationships. Inception is not conversion, the origin or arrival of a faith, or a religious population share. Christianity retrieval is capped at 12,000 returned rows; coverage is uneven. Source date precision and alternatives are retained, and no theological truth or institutional endorsement is asserted.

Civilization timelines · source periods and related events

Selected civilizations, dynasties, archaeological cultures and historical polities have recorded inception, dissolution or period date statements. Alternative chronologies remain separate. Related events require an explicit source main-subject, part-of or participant relationship; this does not establish causation or a complete account. The date window fits the selected stored records, including periods before 3500 BCE. Present-day country connections do not reconstruct historical territory.

Coverage

42,184 selected timeline records across all 244 country/territory labels, with territory-specific records for the five former gaps. Documentation chronology covers 8,537 of 8,618 catalogue identities. All nine listed religion topics have related dated milestones. Religious site and institution dates do not describe changes in national religious population shares. Coverage is uneven; capped source queries and missing dates leave gaps. Counts do not establish complete history. Annual observations cover 213 countries/economies; missing records and unsupported measures remain unavailable.

Transport & logistics

World Bank Logistics Performance Index: overall performance, infrastructure, customs clearance and delivery timeliness. CC BY 4.0 with World Bank additional terms. Survey scores range from 1 to 5; higher is better. Latest non-null observations selected, country labels normalized, API reference years preserved. These are not shipping prices, measured transit times or current speed guarantees. Earlier survey scores are not combined with LPI 2.0.

Country economy and industry breakdowns

World Bank: World Development Indicators, retrieved 20 October 2026. Ten series carry explicit CC BY-4.0 indicator metadata: agriculture, industry, services and manufacturing shares of GDP; food, textiles, chemicals, machinery and other manufacturing shares of manufacturing value added; and ICT services as a share of service exports. Original providers include national statistical agencies, central banks, OECD, UNIDO and IMF, as credited in the indicator metadata.
