READ THE NUMBERS

Manufacturing value is not physical output.

Manufacturing value added subtracts intermediate inputs; it is not gross factory sales, exports or a count of products. Current-dollar trends also reflect prices and exchange rates.

Country rankings use the same reporting year. Missing observations remain unavailable, equal values share ranks, and world shares use the published World Bank total. Default year is the newest with at least 100 reporting countries. Source methods and coverage vary by country.

Phone and electronics evidence consists of selected original factual summaries with source links. Brand headquarters, component fabrication and assembly are different concepts; these examples are not a harmonized global ranking.

Agricultural datasets are excluded from this edition because their additional reuse terms require further review for the intended commercial use.
